Work Breakdown Structure

A Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a key project deliverable that organizes the team’s work into manageable sections. The WBS visually defines the scope into manageable chunks that a project team can understand, as each level of the work breakdown structure provides further definition and detail. The WBS and WBS Dictionary are key elements to effective scope management.
These documents including template, guidelines, checklist and tips describe how these smaller components are managed during the life of the project.
This will allow the Project Manager to more effectively manage the project’s scope as the project team works on the tasks necessary for project completion. In order to more clearly define the work necessary for project completion the WBS Dictionary is used.
